Metal traders, engineers, and fabricators still look up structural steel dimensions and weights in heavy printed reference books — during client negotiations, on construction sites, and on the factory floor.

02 · What I built

A complete reference and calculator app, entirely solo: verified steel data sourced through my family's metal-trading business, a live calculator that computes weights as you type across seven section types, an AI chatbot with on-device Gemini Nano and API fallback, and a Firebase-backed architecture that pushes new steel categories to users without app updates.

03 · The impact

Published on the Play Store with a 5.0★ rating. Dual themes (Industrial Dark + Blueprint Paper) designed for low-light workshops and daytime site visits.

What I did

• Independently designed, built, and published on the Play Store — 5.0★ rating.
• Integrated an AI chatbot with on-device Gemini Nano for supported devices and API fallback, enabling offline structural queries.
• Built a cloud-updatable Firebase data architecture — new steel categories reach users without app updates.
• Dynamic weight calculator with real-time computation across plates, bars, pipes, SHS, and RHS sections.
• Sourced and verified reference data from official industry brochures via my family’s metal-trading business.
• Dual-theme system (Industrial Dark + Blueprint Paper) with configurable text sizes for workshop and site conditions.
